This stool test differs from the Microbiome Mapping test as it detects microbes by culturing microbes and microscopic examination. It is less sensitive than Microbiome Mapping tests as it does not use PCR technology. However, it is a good option if you are on a budget and yields very valuable information including: a snapshot of your microbiome, digestive function, marker for leaky gut (zonulin), marker for inflammation (helps detect inflammatory bowel diseases), digestive enzymes output, gut immunity, overgrowths (bacterial and yeast), parasitic and pathogenic infections (including Helicobacter pylori). It also determines which antimicrobials are effective against your specific overgrowths.
